This month’s official guided tour downtown Eugene First Friday ArtWalk includes some stops that haven’t been included often, if at all, in the past.

The June 2 tour will be led by Eugene vocalist Siri Vik and David Pottinger, vice president of the Eugene Symphony’s board of directors. They will start the tour at 5:30 p.m. at gilt+gossamer and move at 30-minute intervals from there to the Timbers Inn, Oregon Art Supply, Run Hub Northwest and Cozy, ending the official tour there at 8 p.m.

Guided tour

The stop at gilt+gossamer at 873 Willamette St. at 5:30 p.m. features work by two students at the University of Oregon, including couture pieces that reflect Ahoua Touré’s Ivory Coast background and Justin Hartney’s photographs of Oregon and other places he’s traveled.

Mike Hopper’s architectural and retail drawings are part of the renovation of The Timbers

Next is the reinvented Timbers Inn Lounge and Office Building at 1015 Pearl St., at 6 p.m. The aging motel has been “reinvented” by architect Nir Pearlson’s studio and built by the Allen Co. Design it! Build it! LLC, with charcoal concrete planters, dark-stained cedar siding and gray metal roofing outside and dark oak flooring, redone original fir and hemlock ceilings and reclaimed wall paneling, complete with rusty nail holes, inside. Photographs and renderings show the evolution from 1950s motel to the present, along with additional work and travel sketches by retail designer and illustrator Mike Hopper.

From there it’s on to Oregon Art Supply at 1020 Pearl St. at 6:30 p.m., where a Community POST IT Art Project will be underway, offering anyone who comes by the chance to create a 3-by-3 inch sticky note with words, symbols, sketches or art of some other kind.

After that, it’s 7 p.m. at Run Hub Northwest at 515 High St., where photographs by Phil Johnson of Tracktown Photo will be on display. Johnson has been covering track and field since 2008 and provided official coverage for the 2012 Olympic Trials and the 2014 World Junior Championships, as well as world championships in South Korea and Russia as well as last year in Portland. This show features images from competitions at Hayward Field, including the just-finished Prefontaine Classic.

Amber Leaders is an animator and graphic designer; her work is on display at Cozy

Last up at 7:30 p.m. is Cozy at 285 E. Fifth Ave., where Amber Leaders Designs mixes mid-century modern with graphic illustrations to blend nostalgia with a modern twist. Leaders has a degree in animation arts and has worked extensively as an animator and illustrator.
