Details: “Power To The God Within” is an interdisciplinary, immersive experience “re-presenting” the black being as divine and all powerful. The work employs sound, movement, fashion, film and mixed media art, among other tools. It invites the community into a sacred and shared space, provoked and stimulated by expressions of identity, community and spirituality. The work explores the Manifestations Of God in divine feminine form,  as essence and spirit existing beyond the confines of the physical body. The interactive performance art will be led by three manifestations Of God: MAWU, SOGBO and LISA, as inspired by the Ewe mythology of creation.

As the core and portal for creativity, rebirth, healing and evolution, we find harmony with our highest SELVES. Connected deeply to the Source and Life herself, Provoking, gathering and Re-Membering ancient SELVES long lost as pathways to a universal force. The artist invites you to re-imagine your SELF and the world you occupy daily, with awakened and conscious mind, body and spirit. “Power To The God Within” premiered at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY, in 2018. Composed and produced by JOJO ABOT.
