It’s a new-year, all-new, all-women exhibit at the Maude Kerns Art Center, in a show it’s calling Conversations: Reflections of 14 Women Artists.

The artists are members of an artist’s guild called Out of the Woodwork, and the work on display includes that of the late Beverly Soasey, an original member of the group that began in 2014, as well as pieces by Dee Etzwiler, Hannah Goldrich, Jenny Gray, Heather Halpern, Ann Bumb Hamilton, Rogene Mañas, Rebecca Mannheimer, Tylar Merrill, Satoko Motouji, Sally Schwader, Sarah Sedwick, Marijo Taylor, and Marjorie Taylor.

The guild’s purpose is to provide encouragement and sorority among women artists, supporting excellence, exploration, and camaraderie among its members.

A highlight of the Conversations show is a large table for 14, set with a placemat, plate and utensils that represent the tools each artist uses to create her work.

The centerpiece consists of dried branches festooned with a band of paper inscribed with snippets of conversations that have taken place among the artists.
